New Alliance With Yachts International Magazine
To Take Society to "The Next Level"

The International SeaKeepers Society, the charity borne of yachtsmen, and Yachts International magazine, the #1 selling U.S. luxury yacht magazine, have announced an exclusive, high-profile media partnership to advance SeaKeepers mission to expand science-based understanding and analysis of our changing oceans and promote better stewardship of the world's most precious resource.

“We are thrilled about this new collaboration,” said SeaKeepers Chairman Michael T. Moore. “As a leader in the megayacht publishing industry, Yachts International is an exceptional partner to advance SeaKeepers’ mission and to spread the news of all that is being accomplished. With the help of Yachts International, SeaKeepers hopes to inspire the entire yachting community to take action and join our mission of providing vital data – free – to the global scientific community as it works to protect and restore the world’s oceans."

Publisher Karlene Pack added, “Yachts International and SeaKeepers share a common passion for our oceans. We are keen on promoting this commendable cause which readers care deeply about. Our reach is powerful to yacht owners all over the globe and we want to help increase awareness and accelerate the enthusiasm to take SeaKeepers to the next level.”

In October 2006, Yachts International (WWW.YACHTSMAGAZINE. COM) was acquired by Active Interest Media, a leading publisher of enthusiast magazines, books, Internet sites and consumer shows including Show Management, the foremost organizer of in-water boat shows in the U.S. including the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The Society’s new President and CEO, Dean C. Klevan commented, “Since its inception, SeaKeepers has been a small, highly focused organization. As we plan to expand our reach, this new relationship with Yachts International, and its partner Show Management, is essential to our goal of touching all yachtsman and boaters alike.”

World-class events are planned to generate awareness for SeaKeepers mission and celebrate its accomplishments. These events are being held in stunning locations in association with preeminent occasions around the globe, inclduing the Cannes Film Festival, the Monaco Yacht Show, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, St. Barths for the holidays, and Los Angeles during award season.

The inaugural event in Cannes will be hosted onboard SeaKeepers Official Yacth Partner OceAnco's M/Y Alfa Nero during the legendary Cannes Film Festival. The event will celebrate the art of film and the beauty of yachting, while benefitting our one global connector, the oceans. Invited guests will include members of the Society and Seakeepers Award Recipients (former SeaKeeper event participants include James Cameron, Paul Allen, Jean-Michel Coustaeu, Mikhael Gorbachev, Denise Rich, Ted Danson and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco), as well as elite members of the global yachting sector and high-profile individuals in business and entertainment who share a common interest in the health of our oceans.

The 82m Alfa Nero will provide a spectacular venue for an evening soirée at the Cannes Film Festival. Attending guests will mingle and discuss the Society’s primary mission to protect and restore the oceans, and have the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind experiences in the highly anticipated silent auction.

“We are particularly grateful that the stunning Alfa Nero has been provided for this evening. It is an honor and a high compliment to have the event onboard this legendary yacht, and exceptionally fitting as the boat carries the proprietary SeaKeeper 1000™ monitoring system,” said Mr. Moore.

Ms. Pack added, “We will share the experience of the ocean world with our guests on many levels. From the food stations to the entertainment to the decor, Alfa Nero is the ultimate vessel to host such an extraordinary evening.  We are proud to be able to benefit SeaKeepers with this inaugural signature event.”
