Jean-Victor Joins Board of Directors

Jean-Victor Pastor of Monaco, Managing Director of the Groupe Pastor, has been elected to the International SeaKeepers Society board of directors. A member of one of the most prominent families in Monaco, Pastor is head of the most prestigious real estate organization in Monaco, and leading insurance firm Suissecourtage. In 2005 Mr. Pastor entered the luxury yacht market with OnlyYacht insurance. OnlyYacht has been a Official Yacht Partner of the SeaKeepers Society since 2008.

A longtime yachtsman and member of the Monaco Yacht Club, Pastor has become very active in marine conservation. He is a major sponsor of 4MyPlanet (WWW.4MYPLANET. ORG), Alexia Barrier’s solo sailing circumnavigation – now underway – to bring attention to the need to protect and restore the oceans.

The Pastor family has contributed to the development and construction of Monaco since 1880, including the construction of many well-recognized buildings such as the Sporting d’Eté, the Monaco Yacht Club, and the Louis II Stadium. Both as developers and builders, members of the Pastor family have shaped the image of the Principality for more than a century.

“SeaKeepers has a long and intimate connection with Monaco,” said SeaKeepers Board President Jim Gilbert, noting that the Society was launched in the Principality in 1998, and has a formal not-for-profit Monegasque association in Monaco based at the Port Palace Hotel. “We already have a strong presence in Monaco,” Gilbert said, “and we hope the addition of Mr. Pastor to our board will strengthen the effectiveness of both our Monegasque and international efforts to restore our seasto full productivity and health.”
