Belen Jesuit Preparatory School Volunteer Fair 2024

Overview

On the morning of Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, The International SeaKeepers Society participated in a Student Volunteer and Involvement Fair at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami, FL. Belen Jesuit is one of our most common partners with Education as well as Community Engagement events, so we always look forward to getting to engage with the students any time we can. Our Community Engagement Associate Lillian and Educational Outreach Associate Jack set up a table introducing and highlighting all of the efforts and missions of SeaKeepers both in South Florida and globally, including education and community engagement opportunities for the students to participate in. Throughout the event, we also engaged with fellow organizations leading their own tables as well as the staff of Belen Jesuit about future partnerships. Over the course of just a few hours, we engaged with nearly four hundred 9th and 10th graders who expressed interest in getting involved with future SeaKeepers events! The Belen Jesuit students also showed great interest in the Junior SeaKeepers program, asking a great deal of excellent questions regarding the program and how they can join. We thank Belen Jesuit for hosting the event and for having us, and look forward to future events where we hope to see some of these students.
