Overview

On the 1st of March, The International SeaKeepers Society South Pacific successfully hosted its first beach cleanup in Auckland, uniting volunteers in a shared mission to protect the local marine environment. The event took place at Okahu Bay Beach, where 15 volunteers collected nearly 13 kilograms of trash, preventing harmful waste from entering the ocean.

Among the collected debris were plastic bottles, food wrappers, cigarette butts, multiple shoes, and parts of broken glasses—highlighting the persistent issue of pollution along New Zealand’s coastlines.
