Purpose of Research
South Florida Divers Inc. is a vibrant dive and social club that hosts diving and social events almost every week. While diving activities are more frequent during the warmer months, the club ensures that there are local dive opportunities every month of the year. It’s a community where diving enthusiasts can connect, share experiences, and participate in both recreational and social events throughout the year.
Program Overview
On April 2, 2025, The International SeaKeepers Society took the stage at the South Florida Divers Association's monthly meeting to share exciting opportunities for divers to get involved in marine conservation. The presentation focused on various citizen science projects, such as CoralWatch, ORCA Ocean Watchers, and Seabed2030, demonstrating how divers can actively contribute to monitoring and protecting marine environments. Attendees learned about the vital role these projects play in gathering essential data that informs scientific research, guides conservation strategies, and influences policies aimed at safeguarding ocean ecosystems and supporting the well-being of coastal communities.
